Colorado Gives Day: Tennyson Center Kids Take #1 Spot!
Our generous donors once again stepped up to help Tennyson Center for Children raise the most money of all the charities taking part in the 2013 Colorado Gives Day (CGD), event sponsor Community First Foundation announced on December 24. The total raised, an amazing $446,822, will go incredibly far to help the children and families in our care.
Records were shattered during Colorado Gives Day 2013, with a total amount raised for all 1,442 participating charities of $20.9 million, which surpassed last year's total of $15.7 million and made it the second largest single-day charitable giving event in the country. CGD also registered a record number of donations in the state---88,571 compared to the total in 2012 of 69,127.
"The success of Colorado Gives Day is a shared success," said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. "Hardworking nonprofits, generous donors, engaged sponsors---it is wonderful to live in a state filled with people who demonstrate over and over again how much they care about others."
Rod Witte, Tennyson Center President and CEO added, "We are so grateful for such an incredible outpouring of support for our mission and for the children and families we serve. The words 'thank you' simply don't seem to be adequate enough. This will help us to not only maintain the high quality of our current programs and services, but also help us to continue to expand with new programs that will help us serve even more children who need the kinds of services we offer."
Community First Foundation attributes the increased final tally in part to the support of financial partner FirstBank, which supplied an incentive fund as well as cash prizes for some of the top charities, including Tennyson Center.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Colorado Gives Day and selected Tennyson Center as one of the charities of their choice!
